Trucks with air suspension

Air suspension absorbs road vibrations and impacts. A server rack in a rigid truck accumulates microdamage to disks and connectors; with air suspension it travels like in a lift.

Hydraulic tail lift

A loaded rack can weigh 400-900 kg. With a tail lift, loading and unloading are smooth, controlled, and without impacts. Without it, the risk of tipping or dropping the rack is real and very costly.

Trained technical crew

Crews trained in 19" rack handling, ordered dismantle/assembly, bilateral cable labelling and ESD protocol. Not standard movers: they know what each hand touches on a server.

Specific packing for technical equipment

Anti-static covers for boards and disks, high-density anti-vibration foam, rigid boxes certified for electronic equipment transport. Each server travels with its ID on the seal.

Origin CPD technical audit

Physical inventory of racks, servers, UPS, storage and cabling. Initial state photography (connection diagram and room layout).

NDA + phased planning

NDA signed with your legal team. We define downtime windows, IT provider coordination and phase-by-phase responsibility.

Bilateral cable-by-cable labelling

Each cable labelled at both ends with unique ID. Pre-disconnection photo of each rack. Diagram backup handed to the client.

Ordered disconnection (Turnkey Pack)

Sequential shutdown coordinated with your IT provider: services first, then servers, then switches, UPS last. We record the sequence.

ESD + anti-vibration packing

Anti-static covers for each removed item, high-density foam inside the rack, numbered seal and custody signature.

Climate-controlled transport with air suspension

Air-suspension truck (vibration <0.5g), range 20-24 °C. Hydraulic tail lift for impact-free load/unload. GPS + trained driver.

Ordered reconnection at destination

Rack placement per agreed layout. Cable reconnection following bilateral labels. Power-on and initial latency check.

Documented hand-over + signed inventory

Bilateral signature of the final inventory. Delivery of photographic dossier (before/during/after). Configuration guide for your IT team.

No CPD transport is risk-free. A professional relocation reduces them to insurable minimums.

✓ Air-suspension trucks keep vibration below 0.5g. High-density foam inside the rack absorbs residual.
⚠ Electrostatic discharge (ESD)
✓ Staff with ESD wristbands and anti-static gloves. ESD covers for any board or disk removed. Grounded truck floor.
⚠ Temperature and humidity changes
✓ Climate-controlled truck with range 20-24 °C and 45-60 % RH. Madrid-destination transit never exceeds 4 h for local operations.
⚠ Disordered cabling on reconnection
✓ Bilateral cable-by-cable labelling + pre-disconnection photo of each rack. Signed reconnection guide handed to the client. No reconnection without double-check.

What is the minimum downtime window for a data center relocation? +
It depends on volume and pack: in Basic Pack the window is set by your IT team (shutdown + move + restart). In Pack Integral, we coordinate a minimum 4-8 h per rack single-phase window, or staggered 2-4 h phases if you prefer to keep critical services live. Real target defined after free technical audit.
What insurance covers damages during the move? +
We offer extended civil liability policy with special declared value for technical equipment. Standard coverage up to €500,000 per operation, extendable to €5M for large CPDs. Covers handling, transport, intermediate custody and reconnection (in Turnkey Pack). Policy certifiable before work start.
Do you sign an NDA before the technical visit? +
Yes. We send a standard NDA to your legal team within 24 business hours from your request. Alternatively, we adapt your own NDA template if you provide it. The technician takes no photos or measurements until the NDA is signed by both parties. This is a default requirement, not optional.
Do you have experience with Vertiv, Schneider APC, Rittal, HPE, Dell racks? +
Yes. We regularly work with 19" standard racks (EIA-310) from the main manufacturers: Vertiv (formerly Emerson), Schneider Electric APC, Rittal, Legrand, HPE, Dell EMC, Lenovo and Cisco. Also storage cabinets, blade servers, modular chassis, PDU and UPS from main brands.
Can you coordinate the operation with our external IT provider? +
Yes. In Pack Integral, coordination with your IT provider (external or internal) is included by default. Our project lead is the single point of contact for both parties (client + IT provider), reducing your management load. We define in writing who does what before starting.
Do you relocate backup tapes? With what custody? +
Yes, in Pack Integral. Tapes travel in fireproof boxes with GPS tracking and numbered seal. Signed custody at origin and destination. You can require continuous presence of your security officer if applicable. In local Madrid transport, they never exceed 4 hours outside your control.
Do you backup switch and router configuration before the move? +
Configuration backup is usually performed by your IT team or IT provider as part of the shutdown protocol. In Turnkey Pack we coordinate this phase with them and verify with bilateral signature that the backup exists before disconnecting. If you need a specialized technical partner to perform it, we can recommend one under prior agreement.
How much in advance should a CPD relocation be booked? +
We recommend at least 2-3 weeks in advance for simple operations (5-15 racks · single window). For large operations (40+ racks · staggered phase · SLA with penalty) we recommend 6-8 weeks for planning, NDA with lawyers and coordination between 3+ actors (Procoex + your team + IT provider + destination building). Urgent cases studied case by case.
