Reusable returnable boxes

We offer rigid plastic returnable boxes as an alternative to cardboard. Each set is used 100+ times before retirement (vs. 1 for cardboard). We collect them empty 3-5 days after your move.

The cardboard we remove goes to an authorised waste manager in Madrid. You receive a recycling certificate at the end of the service (with exact tonnage if requested). Never to landfill.

🚛

Last resort: landfill or municipal waste point

When no charity can take the goods (damaged furniture, construction debris, stained mattresses, broken appliances) the destination is the authorised landfill. In municipalities that allow companies to use them, we take waste to the municipal recycling centre instead. We are honest: most cases end up at the landfill because of restrictive municipal rules.

Do returnable boxes cost extra? +
No. Returnable boxes are offered at the same price as new cardboard within the move pack. Includes delivery, use during the move and pickup 3-5 days later. Only a refundable deposit (€5/box) applies, fully returned when all boxes are collected.
How to verify cardboard is actually recycled? +
At the end of the service you receive by email the recycling certificate from Ecoembes or the authorised manager (with exact kilos and treatment plant). If you need documentation for a corporate environmental report we provide it at no cost with digital signature.
What happens to the furniture I don't take to the new home? +
We manage donation to 3 partner charities: Cáritas Madrid, Traperos de Emaús and Fundación Ecomudanza. We remove working furniture, clothing, appliances and household items at no extra cost. You receive a tax-deductible donation certificate (Spanish Income Tax Law art. 68.3).
Can Euro 6 vehicles enter Madrid Central / LEZ? +
Yes. Our entire fleet meets Euro 6, category B or C (Spanish DGT green label). Current authorisation to enter Madrid Low Emissions Zone until 2030. No time restriction or extra fee for restricted-traffic areas.
How is the 45 kg waste saving per move actually measured? +
Based on audited average of our last 200 household moves 60-90 m²: we record incoming and outgoing cardboard weight per operation, plus donated furniture vs landfill. Fundación Ecomudanza audits quarterly. Raw data available on request.
